Generations is a game concept that has spanned games, spanned engines, spanned teams, and spanned FPS fans' collective consciousness. The initial concept was simple, yet elegant: unite the greatest first-person shooters of all time, to settle the score once and for all as to what game was best.

Five Generations of shooters collide in this mod for Quake III Arena. Play as one of five classes: Earth Soldiers (Wolfenstein), Doom Warriors (Doom II), Slipgaters (Quake), Strogg Troopers (Quake II), Arena Gladiators (Quake III Arena).

With an arsenal of 40+ weapons at your disposal, new powerups, unique physics and support for QuakeWorld colors among tons of other features that don't directly affect gameplay - Generations is perhaps one of the most ambitious mods ever. Also, it's still in development! So check out the website and voice your support.

Installation

Install v0.99e, then the update to v0.99f, then the v0.99f Server Patch.
It's also recommended you install the FFA and CTF map packs. Might as well get the Wirehead models while you're at it.

How-to-play On-line

Make sure your version of Quake III Arena is up to date. When searching for servers, make sure the filter for games in the browser is set to Internet. A lot of mods lack servers these days, so keep that in mind in case you discover that there are none.
